Sweet Wars: Honey Vs. Sugar
Honey… one word that is truly sweet, in metaphor and physical form. I just love honey and I can’t get enough of it. To point on my last post, it may be inhumane to force bees to keep our cravings for these liquid amber at bay. I guess the bees would have been proud to know that their labor is not put into waste.
Sugar is sweet…but Honey… is better!
There’s just no doubt about this. Humans have used honey throughout the ages to satisfy that sweet tooth. Honey doesn’t only taste well but it also cleans good. This is the reason why I get instant relief from sore throat with a sip of lemon tea mixed with a tablespoon of honey.
Honey is like your instant antiseptic that cleans a nasty cut on your skin. I would suggest putting warm honey on a wound to stop infection and swelling. You may also use honey for that burn. The only downside I know: It can be gooey, giving that weird, icky feeling.
Between sugar and honey, I would go for honey – even if it takes time to dilute in water or my favorite fruit juice. Honey is easily absorbed by the body, without the risks of sugar-related disease. On top of that, I get all the antioxidants I need.
A few years ago, people were into the Royal Jelly craze. It might not be that hype today, but I’m sure it’s nutritious. Right now, I’m just content taking a teaspoon of honey a day and I’ve felt much energized than the regular vitamin pills I used to have. Honey Rules!
