Coffee for Sun Cream?
I have always been a caffeine junkie, sipping my favorite cup of Macchiato to rev me up for the day or a Frappucino Grande to cool me down on a sizzling hot afternoon. We all love coffee and that rich aroma filling you like an aphrodisiac, making you want to have more.
Coffee for Suncream? That’s a little bit odd for me. I’ve just read some news about it. Studies have found out that caffeine blocks UV rays and keeps the skin protected from the risk of skin cancer. This is great news for those who love the sun like I do. I think it would be a nice alternative for the usual sunblock creams we have that smells like salty sweat. At least, we can choose to smell like a latte or brewed cup.
Caffeine have always had a share of bad press and this news puts it on a new limelight. On top of the free radicals we have, the Sun is slowly becoming our enemy as well. We have only ourselves to blame. The ozone layer is thinning, the ice caps are melting and the world is warming into degrees that is just a bit too much to bear.
There are about 8,000 serious cases of skin cancer each year, which can be fatal for some. I always love Natural Skin care to soothe my sunburn. I am just excited to see a coffee sun cream to be out in the market soon. For now, I will just drink my usual cup to protect my skin from the inside-out. Besides, researchers already say that doing so is encouraging those damaged skin cells to self-destruct and be gone.. for good.
