To Detox or Not to Detox?

March 21st, 2009

A heart-warming reunion parties with family and friends can be a nice way of breaking the monotony of daily living, but it can also be an ideal occasion to binge on tasty treats that are so delectably… irresistible.

It is just hard to say NO to a plate filled with whopping calories, especially when it is made with love.  The last thing you want is to break someone else’s heart, just because you want to be very selective with the way you eat.  Holidays can also be a great excuse to forget about choosing healthy foods.

” There’s always an easy way-out,” some will say.  We can see a lot of detox kits being sold in pharmacies and promising a quick purge from all those junk.  It is like unclogging a faulty pipe by calling the friendly plumber next door.  But, does it really work?

Many over-the-counter detox kits contain dietary supplements in pills or liquid form.  They often come with instructions and diet info on a given amount of time.  The catch is you being cleansed of impurities after the specified time frame – if you just followed everything right.

The only wonderful thing about these detox kits is the info you’ll get on the print.  The body has its own way of detoxifying itself through the liver.  These detox kits don’t come cheap either and for $50, you can buy organic foods that can help you detox your body from the inside out.  There are also supplements rich in Zeolites that powerfully aid in cleansing toxins from the body.

The choice is always up to you.  Early detection means early prevention.  Healthy options are just in front of you, and if I were to choose, I’ll do it naturally – without buying costly kits.
