Sugarless Gum: The Next Trend in Weight Loss?
I was just researching the web for the next best trend on losing weight and keeping it off for good when I came upon a curious report about the helpful benefits of chewing gum. I was really laughing my heart out with this almost ludicrous suggestion, until I read the entire story.
I guess it is just a simple logic. If one is chewing a sugarless gum, that person will not be able to chew anything else. So, not only does one exercise those jaw muscles and keep those nasty plaques at bay, but popping this gum increases one’s energy and helps curb food cravings.
For real? A study has been made by the famous Wrigley’s chewing gum company on 115 men and women, ranging from age 18 to 54. Participants were asked one day to chew sugar-free gum for 15 minutes every hour in a period of three hours. What is quite amazing is that those who did chew the gum reported to have lesser cravings than those who did.
There are still natural ways in keeping off weight for good. The same old rule still applies: Eat Healthy, Live Healthy and Exercise. I guess the next time I have this irresistible temptation to grab a bag of chips, I would try chewing a gum instead, which puts my greedy palate…at bay.
