When will we ever learn that there’s just no quick fix when it comes to weight loss and staying fit.  Many companies out there are making outrageous claims in the world of fitness and weight loss, playing on our innermost desire to look beautiful.

The question is:  Why do we fall for these misleading campaigns?  There’s no harm in trying, many would say, even if they know fully well that there is no guarantee that this fad solution will really work for them.  Surely, there are many testimonials that will make you take that giant leap into the unknown. You have just been tired of those traditional ways in keeping lean and healthy.   You don’t even have the luxury of time to exercise.

It takes smarter choices in knowing what fad diets and weight loss gimmicks are.  Many physicians will tell you the dangers of these products.  Here are ways to know that you’re being dupe:

  • A promise of instant weight loss of 1-2 pounds a week
  • Claims with ” before ” and ” after ” photos to convince you of proven results
  • Too good to be true testimonials from customers and so-called experts
  • A weight loss program that doesn’t mind you taking unhealthy, fat-saturated foods
  • A program that highlights only one type of food group
  • A program that costs more than your usual serving of healthy whole foods, fruits, and veggies.
  • Funny-looking gadgets that are supposed to make you lose weight for less than the normal time you spend on exercises

How many times have we heard of pills that come with fat-binders so that you will lose weight?  This may sound great but you may also risk yourself of vitamin deficiency.  Then, we see exercise pills coming out in the market, promising the same benefits an exercise will give you – only that you don’t have to sweat an effort to do so.

We all know that an easy flowing daily exercise coupled with a healthy diet and lifestyle – are keys to fitness and health.  There is just no way we can trick our bodies to produce instant results by weight loss gimmicks.  You can just take a look at last year’s worst weight loss list and have a hearty laugh.

Balance is always the key to your overall well-being.  Remember, we eat to live…and not the other way around.  Just say no … Lose your weight naturally and curb your cravings.  Fad diets and weight loss gimmicks are like a bar of our fave sweet – they just satisfy that hunger for the time-being.  It’s never going to be a long term agenda.
