Vinegar: The New Solution to Weight Loss?

July 17th, 2009

Although some experts are still doubting the weight loss effects of drinking a tablespoon of your apple cider vinegar before meals, there has been a recent study in Japan about the effect of vinegars in mice. What seems to be just your plain salad dressing may soon become another cash crop for the booming weight loss industry.

On the good side – we may just find the next best ( and cheapest ) alternative to fad diets and pills. In the new study, the researchers have traced back the use of vinegar back to ancient times. They suggest that the acetic acid in vinegar must have been the key in controlling high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and body fats.

A study made on mice has proven that those who were given vinegar had lost 10% of their total body fat, burning the fatty acid, and making sure they don’t become stored in the body. Some people are swearing to the quick results of drinking vinegar for weight loss and one must take precaution for to its high acid content. The last thing you want is to get a very sore throat, and worst, vinegar intake may interact with other prescription drugs, specially, diuretics.

The bad news with vinegar is – it just doesn’t taste that great. Vinegar is so strong it can be used to clean your home, safely. In fact, 3 teaspoons of pure vinegar into your basin of water is great for making a natural fruits and vegetables wash.

When it comes to weight loss, there is no quick fix. It takes patience and healthy habits to live a healthy life and have an ideal body weight. Weight loss is very much relative with the food you eat and you need a natural way to lose weight, without the risks. We can only hope for more discoveries on the amazing effects of vinegar to our bodies… and you don’t need to look anywhere since it’s just hiding in your kitchen cupboard.
