No time to relax? You are not alone. In fact, majority of today’s population complain from lack of time solely devoted to a peaceful getaway into the healing haven of relaxation. In fact, many of us feel so over-burdened with our everyday lives, of endless appointments and hectic schedules, making us stretch ourselves further into a breaking point of chronic fatigue and the incessant complaint of feeling too drained to live the life of our dreams each day.

Relaxation is now considered a luxury, made for only those who can afford to spend for it. For the rest, it is a constant struggle to have a dream of stress-free living, even for a day. Combine this with a poor diet and bad lifestyle choices – you have now a recipe for catastrophe. If machines can break, so can the human body. Without proper rest, you are jeopardizing your very life to the risks of health issues caused by stress. When the body and mind is not at ease, you are inviting a host for disease.

Before you think twice about spending time for a blissful rest, you must accept that it is not a sin to do so. Many people feel guilty spending time on relaxation when they could have spend it on other “more important” things. This is a fallacy. Spending time on yourself must be the top priority you have, on top of other things. You can set a few hours a day for relaxation, or schedule it during weekends and those time when you’re off from work. Always remember that you’re doing yourself a favor in doing so and all you need is proper time management. Besides, a well-rested mind and body will yield to a more productive you.

If you’re feeling that life is dragging you down the drain, here are great ways to relax without spending a fortune:

1. Give more love to yourself. You must first believe that you deserve a break.
2. When you wake up, savor the first 5 minutes and do absolutely nothing. Just close your eyes and meditate, temporarily shutting off all worries for the day.
3. Listen to revitalizing music after you wake up.. and relaxing tunes just before you go to bed. If you can find Binaural Music, that would be great to aid you in your healing, energizing, and relaxing process.
4. Clean out all the clutter in your life – from a messy bedroom, a cluttered inbox, to the stacks of papers and files in your work station. There are many unnecessary things that you need to do away it, and which do not deserve your valuable time and attention.
5. Be Organized. When everything is running smoothly, you’ll have less time to worry.
6. Focus your energy positively. Anger is not only a waste of your precious time, but it is also bad for your heart. In fact, it can be very fatal and too much anger can literally kill.
7. Put some humor into your life. If you have been down lately, you can get a quick laughing fix from a funny flick, a funny joke from an online humor site, or a comedy stunt from a local comedy bar downtown.
8. Be inspired with a hobby you love, whether it is journal writing, crafting, painting, or knitting. Not only will you love the time spent in relaxing through your favorite craft, but you can also channel your creativity into something more productive.
9. Pamper yourself. All those hard work will be put to waste if you don’t treat yourself the way you deserve it. It doesn’t have to be luxurious. You can just spend a night relaxing in the sweet scent of your warm bubble bath, or have a relaxing massage in your favorite spa.
10. Stretch your way through yoga, pilates, or tai chi and get the blood pumping through your body. These exercises can help you relax through proper breathing techniques, combined with meditation and muscle toning.

There is no reason why you shouldn’t spend a quality time for yourself. You can even share this quality time with your loved ones, making you spend better bonding moments. Relaxation can mean different things to many people, and it can be as simple as having a walk in the park to get away from all the things that put stress – even for a moment. Don’t forget that a peaceful and happy mind means having a healthy body to reach your goals and live life to the max.. the way life is meant to be lived.
