You wake up one day to find a strange-looking rash on your leg, a bump on your navel, or even too much hair left on your comb. Is there something to worry about? It’s only normal to worry about changes in yourself, especially when they are related to your health. For this reason, we give you strange medical symptoms to watch for and a few tips whether it’s a cause for worry or not.

Solving the Mystery of These Five Common Health Symptoms

1. Hair Loss

Normal: Losing an estimated number of 100 strands throughout the day
Why It Happens: This can happen due to hormonal changes, a sudden stop in birth control pills, during/after pregnancy
When to Worry: When you lose a lot of hair due to stress, mineral deficiency, or an over/under-active thyroid

2. Eye Twitches

Normal: Eye twitches after hours of doing computer work or having too much caffeine/nicotine
Why It Happens: You are under stress
When to Worry: If your chin thrusts forward as you blink since it can be an early sign of Meige Syndrome, a rare yet treatable neurological disease

3. Too Much Hiccuping

Normal: Hiccups can last a few minutes to hours; Some experience it once a month
Why It Happens: It is believed to be caused by electrical impulses in the vagus nerve, extending from the brain stem to the colon – to your heart rate
When to Worry: If you continuously hiccup for a day. You can check with your doctor to rule out irritations of the phrenic nerve.

4. Fingernail Discoloration

Normal: White spots on your fingernails are a result of an impact and not of vitamin deficiency.
Why It Happens: You accidentally put pressure on your nails ( like getting your fingers caught in a drawer )
When to Worry: If you see discoloration all throughout your fingers and toes, you need to see a dermatologist to rule out the possibility of a fungus infection or psoriasis. Pitted nails can also be a sign of autoimmune disorders such as reactive arthritis and inflammation of the joints, eyes, or urethra.

5. Numbness or Tingling

Normal: Numbness or tingling of your muscles and nerves can happen when you are exposed to extreme cold. This can be remedied by putting on a pair of gloves, warmer clothes, or immersing in a hot tub.
When to Worry: If you still feel tingling and numbness even in warm weather, you might have a pinched nerve in your neck or lower back, nerve damage, or even diabetes. Talk to your doctor about options on how you can live a pain-free life.

Your healthy choices will definitely help you lead a better lifestyle. Know that a happy mind means a healthy body. Try to live a life that’s stress and worry-free. If in doubt, you can simply take a time off and meditate your way back to natural healing. You have the power of choice in your hands so listen to your body when it speaks to you. Take care… of You!

Psychology of Fear, Anxiety, Stress & Anger

Your health is the most vital part of your life. Without good health, you will not be able to do the things you loved most, that which will lead to the completion of your dreams. Did you know that happiness is an important part of staying healthy? Know that the shamans have been right when they say that the heart, mind, body, and soul are all connected. When one is sick, the others are ill too.

When everyday is not always a shiny day for us and dark clouds hover, it is tough to stay positive. Our thoughts link us closely to our bodies and for it to stay at ease, we must get rid of the mind’s dis-ease – through positive affirmations. There is a scientific evidence showing that our immune system is closely working with our nervous system. This means our minds and emotions can have an impact over disease.

How Do You Harness Positive Affirmations in Your Life?

1. Love Yourself

Each time you look in the mirror, see the wonderful person staring back at you. You are beautiful in every way. Take time to appreciate who you are and feel good about yourself.

2. Forgive

Why do you hold on to the past? All those bottled up feelings of anger, hate, and resentment are bad for your mind and body. Forgive and let your wounds heal. You don’t have to feel like a victim for the rest of your life. Don’t stress yourself and learn the art of letting go.

3. Create Positive Statements

Instead of saying ” I can’t “… for once, say ” I can .. ” Create positive statements and repeat them to yourself as if they are already happening in your life. If you long for peace, say ” I am living a peaceful and happy life. ” You may not believe it, but these positive statements help your subconscious to manifest them in reality. Some people call it the law of attraction.

4. Respect Yourself

It is now time to take a total makeover of your life and take great care of yourself. Have you been living a sedentary lifestyle lately? It is not too late to start making healthy choices, or doing things you love. It’s all about feeling good inside and outside. You need to nurture yourself – with a healthy diet and a regular exercise.

5. Make Realistic Goals

Creating positive affirmations can be a great thing, only if they’re achievable. If you push things way too far, your mind will start thinking negative thoughts that will make you feel hopeless. You can start by being grateful for the things you have today – whatever feels good to you.

Sometimes, you need to avoid people with negative energy that drain your positivity away. There is no point wallowing in sadness. There are plenty of reasons to smile each day, if you only take the time and be grateful about them. Laughter probably is the best medicine in the world, so don’t miss your chance to have a good, hearty laugh. It’s not only good for the heart and soul, but for the body as well. Laugh Your Troubles Away…

Think Positive Thoughts as You Listen to this Beat:

Cancer is not the number one killer of women today. It is something closer to your heart: Cardiovascular Disease. According to the American Heart Association, heart disease kills men and women, regardless of age, and almost 60 million suffers from this condition. The great news is: You can do something about it! Prevention is by all means better than a cure and you only have to think of one word if you want to reduce your risk: HEALTHY.

Having a healthy heart is truly achievable if you live a healthy lifestyle, go for healthy choices, exercise regularly, avoid addiction to harmful substances ( alcohol, drugs, cigarettes ), and know how to maintain a healthy body weight. Don’t be misled by the myth that heart disease only happens to old people. If you’re not living a healthy life, you definitely increase your risks. No exceptions.

What are Your Risks for a Heart Disease?

There are factors you can control, then, there are those you cannot. You are at a higher risk if you have a family history of heart disease, diabetes, aged 65 years or older, and after you have reached menopause. However, you can lessen your risk by learning how to control your stressful and sedentary lifestyle, cigarette smoking, body weight, hypertension, high cholesterol levels, and stress.

What Can You Do to Prevent Heart Disease?

1. Know Your Risks – as stated above
2. Get real with your goals and make sure you reach it – from losing weight to eating healthy
3. Talk to Your Doctor – a health care expert can help monitor your risk factors and give you advice on how to lower your blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol levels
4. Check your blood pressure – since high blood pressure is a ’silent killer’ that can damage your heart and vital organs
5. Keep the Count – make sure that you keep your cholesterol levels below 200 mg/dL, your good cholesterol at 50 mg/dL, blood presure at 120/80 mmHg, and fasting glucose count of 100 mg/dL. This means having to exercise too, at least 30 minutes each day of the week.
6. Learn the Signs – of a heart attack or stroke for you to know that you need to get emergency help. This signs can be dizziness, exhaustion, sweating, heartburn, or pain below the ribs when pressure is applied.
7. Encourage Children – if you live with your children at home, make sure they get to start living healthy at an early age, to lessen their risks as well when they grow up.
8. Get a Check for ASD – or Atrial Septal Defect, which is a congenital cardiac condition. This can go undetected as a child or teen, which can then manifest in a woman’s early 20s or when she becomes pregnant.
9. Raise Good Cholesterol – by loving monounsaturated fats like olive and canola oil. A good walk can help raise your good cholesterol levels as well.
10. Laugh with a Cup of Tea in Hand – both laughter and tea can help you fight stress that can cause you heart disease. Not only will you feel clean and better inside, but you’ll also feel good on the outside.

You can also get a healthy heart through the breakthrough powers of L-Arginine. Not only will you feel your heart becoming younger, but you get increased energy, better sexual performance, and better defense against premature aging. You may also benefit from nature’s powerful detoxifiers, Zeolites, and get the best mineral to cleanse yourself of disease-causing toxins from within. Your Heart Matters!

Have you tried riding a merry-go-round and feel somewhat nauseous after a jolly ride? Imagine having to feel the same way even when you are simply standing in place. Imagine feeling as if the whole world spins even when you are lying down with your eyes closed. Welcome to the world of those who are experiencing a balance disorder called VERTIGO.

Unlike popular belief, vertigo is not a disease, but a symptom for underlying medical conditions. Vertigo is used to describe that spinning or whirling sensation that happens when a person’s equilibrium or balance is disturbed. When there is a sensation of movement, this is referred to as Subjective Vertigo, and when the movement is perceived to occur from the surroundings, it is called as Objective Vertigo.

Vertigo happens when a person is having a problem with his or her posterior semicircular canals located in the inner ear. This is medically called as the vestibular labyrinth of the ear, and thus, the term labyrinthine is born. Someone who suffers from vertigo feels or thinks that everything is moving or spinning, making that person lose balance and be nauseous. The body’s vestibular system is the one responsible in keeping the objects we see in focus, even when the body moves. When your head moves, signals are sent to the labyrinth, the apparatus in your inner ear filled with fluids. The movement data is then transferred to the vestibular nerves, which carries the signal to your brainstem and cerebellum. With vertigo, the transfer of signal is displaced, causing dizziness spells in many adults – most specially women.

What Causes Vertigo?

There are many common causes for having a balance disorder, and this can be:

1. Calcium carbonate crystals floating free inside your inner ear
2. Poor Vision
3. Head Injuries
4. Heart Disease
5. Ear Infection
6. Brain Tumor
7. Thyroid Disease
8. Calcium Deficiency
9. Motion Sickness
10. Anemia
11. Lack of Sufficient Oxygen Supply to the Brain
12. High Cholesterol Levels
13. High Blood Pressure
14. Diabetes

Are There Natural Cures to Vertigo?

Normally, your doctor will prescribe you to take anti-Vertigo pills to help reduce the spinning sensation and make you standing on your two feet without falling over. There are natural remedies that you can try to help reduce your risk to Vertigo, namely:

1. Loving your Ginkgo Biloba herb, which is famous in Chinese traditional medicine to be a potent vertigo cure. This Chinese herb helps blood flow to your brain, making that dizzy sensation subside.

2. Keep yourself hydrated with water or you may soak a tablespoon of coriander seeds in your glass, fill it with water, leave it overnight, drain and drink. Some folks mix black pepper, lemon juice, and salt with their pure water.

3. Avoid doing jerky movements like bending your neck while looking up, playing virtual games, or riding amusement park dare-devil rides that can trigger a vertigo attack.

4. Stay focused when you are having a vertigo and if possible, keep focusing on a stationary object or a fixed point until your brain adjusts to the reality that nothing around you is really moving.

5. Have a healthy diet that is low in sodium and sugar. Make sure you get your essential vitamins and minerals. If you are doing salads, add lemon peel to boost that vertigo-fighting meal.

6. You can do balance exercises by using the Brandt-Daroff technique, or you can simply stand with arms at your side and your feet together, while holding this post for thirty seconds. You can also be in this standing position while you slowly move your head up and down, left and right. You can keep track of your walking exercise just to see how far you have walked and how you feel while walking. This can help you trace your dizziness spells.

7. For those with neck trauma, you may try chiropractic therapies that will help align the vertebrae in your neck, which can help reduce your vertigo attacks.

8. You can also do simple breathing techniques and meditation during a vertigo attack, until the dizzy feeling subsides.

9. Nothing beats a good night’s sleep and rest in order to make sure you have lesser vertigo attacks during the day.

Remember that you are the master of your own body and don’t let a dizziness spell control you… or make you panic in the process. By learning the art of mind control, you can slowly take charge of your life and live a healthy lifestyle that revolves in healthy, natural choices – for life.

There is a paradox that says ” Happiness is healthy.. even in small doses… ” and this is a good thing to keep on remembering for the start of the new year. Is it some magic power that gives happy people that resilience to sickness and life’s little challenges? When studies say that these micro-moments of joy are truly essential in keeping one happy, there’s all the more reason to keep your one year supply of smileys for good.

The bitter sweet reality of life is not without trials and sufferings that may pierce this bubble of joy we wrap ourselves in. But, remember that there is no mountain high enough when it comes to facing life’s battles, and keeping positive emotions and attitude will truly make that big difference in how you live your life for the better. People are thinking too much of the future and the past, when all they really need is to focus in the NOW and strive to be happy – in the NOW.

Happiness and health are simply linked together. As they say, laughter is the best medicine and positive psychology can only bring emotional resilience that contributes to good health and a good outlook in life. This is why happy people are less stressed than their unhappy counterparts. Happiness and health simply goes hand in hand and you need to keep in mind that there is no true health – without that bottle of joy.

How to Have a Happiness Quick Fix:

In just an hour, you may try doing the suggestions below, which can rev up your happiness level, boosting that positive mood in the limelight.

1. Keep on Moving

Be it a simple dance to your favorite music, a brisk walk on your lawn, or putting more energy in the way you speak over the phone – just keep on moving and raise that energy level. Don’t just sit back and sulk all day. Move and keep that energy pumping, stimulating your brain to give you that feel-good mood.

2. Go the Extra Mile

Reach out and renew those ties with your family, co-workers, and friends. If you have been estranged with people who were close to you, it’s time to heal the wounds, forgive, and live a happier relationship.

3. Stop Procrastinating

Problems don’t go away no matter how you try to hide or ignore it. The more you keep your door closed, the more these problems will pile up outside your doorsteps. Try to clean out your nagging tasks and deal with your issues. It can be paying off your bad debts, dealing with an insurance, or facing the woes of foreclosure. There is always a solution to each problem and the more you face each of it, the more you lessen your burden, and the happier you become.

4. Live in Zen

It is true that your home and environment contributes to your positive energy and mood. Start clearing up that clutter in your home and create a serene living space that is conducive to peace and relaxation. You may try using color therapy that will bring out that peace of mind and smile each morning you wake up and each night you go to sleep.

5. Be a Good Samaritan

Doing good deeds doesn’t have to be for people that you know. Do a stranger that kind favor. Even a sincere smile can brighten up someone’s day. When you do something good, you feel good in return, increasing that happiness factor inside of you.

6. Induce Happiness

This doesn’t mean faking that happy feeling. If you really can’t stop feeling the blues, you can take yourself to a laughter therapy, a smile yoga session, or just watch a funny flick as you snuggle between the sheets. Remember that a simple smile boosts your mood, not to mention opening your air passage to bring in more oxygen to your body, blood, and brain.

Strive to be happy…. this is a must for the start of the year! Do you really want to live your life in constant worries and fears? Although life is not without its trials, facing it with happiness will give you that upper hand in making you glide through life like one would do on a summer day. There is just enough evidence that shows unhappiness as linked to anxiety, stress, depression – that leads to poorer health. Your negativity will weaken your immune system, making your body a perfect host for various diseases and health conditions. Is that what you really want for your life?

Living a healthy life is as simple as being happy about your life… and making the right choices in finding your natural healing. Be Happy.. Be Healthy!

There’s an old saying that says when you smile, the world smiles back at you. In a much truer sense, smiling just feels good, and thus, it attracts all the positive aspects that life can bring. Even a kind smile to a waitress serving a hot plate of your favorite dish is enough to lighten up her weary face. Smiling is very easy to do and it is free to give. Why frown when you can smile instead?

When you smile, you look more attractive and you feel like one too. This is enough reason to make smiling your top agenda each morning you wake up and each night before you go to bed. Smiling just loosens your tensed muscles, making your nostrils wider and letting you breathe more air that can reach your body’s vital organs and cells. Smiling can be fun too and it can open networks of friends whom you would never have imagined will want to know you in the first place. ” There’s something about your smile.. ” You may have heard this line too often and truly, a smile can brighten up the darkest room of any cold space.

Have you ever heard of Smile Yoga or Smile Meditation? This technique, a novel idea by Professor Park Jae Woe, targets a person’s mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. A simple smile is believed to have the most positive effect in anyone’s life and for this, a smile meditation technique is brought to people who have simply forgotten the feel-good art of SMILING.

What happens during a Smile Meditation? Like any forms of meditation, the mind is prepared for peace and relaxation. Thoughts are cleared of all negative vibes, where positive phrases are reinforced to create those positive thoughts and emotions. Learning the art of smile yoga is also learning to perfect oneself and live life the way it should be harmoniously lived. The focus of this form of meditation is on postures and movements that are easy and comfortable to do. Any motion causing pain can disrupt the body’s ability to smile. Every movement is taken slowly, where nothing is rushed, forced, or strained.

The Health Benefits of Smiling

Before you even raise your eyebrows and frown at this article, you need to read further on. A smile doesn’t only make you look good, but it can also give you plenty of health benefits like:

1. Reducing your risk of depression due to Endorphins released when you feel happy
2. Being viral and spreading that happy feeling to people in a room
3. Relief from stress, fears, anxieties, or worries
4. Better immune system that protects you from catching colds and flu
5. Lower blood pressure levels
6. Lower risk of heart disease
7. Natural pain reliever when you feel happy

Overall, smiling simply boosts your confidence, giving you that positive outlook in life where nothing is unattainable. A smile can even win that coveted job during the toughest interview. Health-wise, when your mind feels happy, your body will feel at ease as well. We all know that disease is caused by a body’s unease. Just live a healthy lifestyle, choose natural healthy options, and put on a smile each day to help you live your life to the fullest. Be Happy!

The holiday season is a merry-go-round event of gift-giving, marketing campaigns, holiday events, late night parties, and fun-filled activities that starts a few weeks after you had enjoyed a night of Thanksgiving. Your holiday greeting card may depict feelings of warmth, joy, love, and peace – but in reality, this once in a year merry-making event is one of the busiest and most stressful time ever. There is just not enough time to do those last minute shopping for gifts to everyone on your list. Then, you need to fit into your chef’s hat and cooking apron as you balance your skillet on your way to make that sumptuous dish, hoping everyone will love what you will prepare. The list of activities goes on and before you knew it, you wake up with aching muscles and a worst migraine on time for that special day.

If this story is familiar to you, know that you are not alone in experiencing it. In fact, women seems to feel the holiday stress more than men do. There are simply too many things to do and the overwhelming feeling that the holiday season brings may just ruin the true spirit of the holiday cheers.

Why Do You Feel Holiday Stress?

1. You suddenly feel like a superwoman ( or a superman ) where you think you can do everything on your own. Continue to do this and you will run down both your mind and body, making you feel too tired to enjoy the holiday spirit.

2. You drink, eat, and spend too much. There is always a wisdom in moderation and anything you do in excess will have consequences you will definitely regret later.

3. You just feel suffocated with too much togetherness with your family and suddenly, you are wishing for a room to breathe.

4. Or, you may feel the opposite and feel just so blue and alone. Maybe it’s time to make another family visit from the last one you had a couple of years back.

5. It’s the weather, not you. The holiday season is also a great time for SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder. When the sun feels like hibernating during the winter days, the immune system may also weaken and you may have less energy or enthusiasm in doing the things you love.

How Can You Manage Holiday Stress?

There are many ways to beat holiday stress for good and it shall depend on your personal choices. You can:

1. Prioritize

There are just too many things to do during the holiday season – learn to face this reality! You may actually enjoy doing all of these if you prioritize your to-do-list and schedule everything properly. You will be surprised at how efficient your holiday activities will be when you sort out which you must do first, second, third, and more.

2. Accept & Share

Learn that you are not superhuman and you may have to cut corners on some activities that you have in mind. If you don’t have the time to bake a cake, you may actually buy one from the nearest bakery. You can also share tasks with your loved ones or family members, which make it more fun without you carrying the burden of doing everything. Lower your expectations and remember that it’s the thought that counts!

3. Set Limits

You are simply human and there are people whom you don’t want to spend time longer with. Try to allocate special time to people that matters most to your life. If you are living alone, you may invite your friends over, or go over their place instead. You may even give your time to a fulfilling volunteer work and bring out a smile from total strangers.

4. Just Breathe

If everything around you suddenly goes in a whirlwind, just pause and breathe. Don’t panic if the holiday meal you have prepared is slightly burned or if you don’t have that dress to wear at a company holiday party. In fact, amidst the confusion, just breathing deeply brings fresh oxygen to your brain, giving you all that focus you need to get you going. Remember that nobody’s perfect and people will still love you regardless of tiny mishaps.

If you are going to face a tough day, you may listen to binaural beats the night before, for you to get a quality sleep that will prep you up for the busiest day of your life. The special frequencies used in binaural music can help you reach a deep state of meditation within minutes. Just sit or lie down, revel in the splendor of sound technology, and get yourself ready to face a mega holiday rush the next day. Breathe!

With new strains of viruses sprouting like tiny, nasty mushrooms in the global backyard, modern medicine can only have a pandemic nightmare as they scour the world against time and space in search of the most potent cure. Reality begins to set in as we become more aware of the germs and infections that live with us like the air we breathe. It’s like a war against an alien race, although these doesn’t come with bright space crafts from outer space. The opposite can be said, where these alien anti-bodies race faster than the speed of sound to invade our inner spaces – our bodies.

The human body is one miracle machine that has its own way of healing itself, protecting it from infectious diseases. For example, having a bout of fever during a flu attack is your body’s way of boiling up these nasty viruses and ridding your body of it in the process. This is why we hear people who drink aspirins getting worse with a simple fever and flu attack. The body suddenly goes haywire when it’s interrupted on working its way to your natural healing. Thus, we see cases known as a Cytokine Storm.

Your body needs all the help it can get from natural ways of boosting immunity, and you can do your part by choosing healthier, natural, and safer alternatives. Your body is your only living shell that keeps you alive and you need to treat it kind.

Natural Ways of Boosting Your Immunity

1. Love Lemon Juice – lemon restores your body’s alkali-acid balance or pH levels and a freshly squeezed lemon in a glass of water can help improve your body’s alkalinity, as it get rid of bacteria and viruses inside your system. Don’t take on an empty stomach though.

2. Love Your Herbs – Fresh herbs, herbal alternatives, pure-grade essential oil made from herbs like the famous Thieves Oil, herbal supplements, Astragalus, Andrographis, Ginseng, Echinacea, and Elderberry will help your body fight off infectious diseases with its anti-fungal, anti-septic, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial properties.

3. Love Sleep – nothing beats a good night’s sleep to heal and energize your body. If you find it hard to get quality, uninterrupted sleep at nights, immerse in a warm bath, do light yoga stretches, meditate, or listen to binaural beat to help you achieve deep sleep.

4. Love Water – as the adage goes that ” Water is Life, ” nothing beats the true elixir of youth in keeping your body healthy, hydrated, and looking younger. Drink Up!

5. Love Greens – from green, leafy vegetables to your colorful assortment of fruits, these tasty treats are packed with anti-oxidants, enzymes, fibers, vitamins, and healing properties that makes eating come with plenty of health benefits. If you find these bland, you can always try mixing them up in any nice recipe you can find online. Apples, broccoli, and red onions are bursting with immune boosting flavanoids that keep you going even when you’re feeling tired. Buy fresh and organic, if you can.

6. Love Vitamins – from A, B, C, D, E to zinc. Your body needs vitamins and minerals to support its overall immunity and your lifestyle may be depleting you of essential nutrients. Stock up on natural vitamin and mineral supplements that are chemical and gluten-free. Vitamin D is known to be effective in strengthening your immune system against common colds and flu.

7. Love Exercise – regular physical activity, from walking to doing your laundry, can help keep your body strong, fit , and healthy. You don’t really need to sign up for expensive gym memberships. Even a few stretches a day can burn a good amount of calories away. Stop making excuses and take off that couch potato tag.

8. Love Yourself - nothing more can help you stay healthy… when you feel good about yourself. Health is not just about your physical body, but it means a balance of your emotional and mental health as well. Studies show that happy people are less likely to get sick than their sad counterparts. Give time to enjoy your life and pamper your way to natural healing.

We hear many wise men say that one must learn how to forgive and forget all the troubles and negative feelings brought about by someone we hate. All religions in the world preach the golden rule of forgiveness, being a gift of love given freely. Though this topic touches more on a person’s spiritual and emotional aspects, it cannot be out-ruled that forgiveness has no significant effects when it comes to a person’s physical health. On the contrary, to be healthy means oneness of a person’s whole being – which includes the mind, body, heart, and the soul. It is a difficult task only a very few can master, but learning how to forgive brings you a step closer to freedom – from all the negative pains that life can bring.

We may forgive those who have hurt us deepest, but to forget, is another thing. This famous cliche is not realistic. A psychologist once said that forgiveness is not to literally forget what was done, but to graciously accept that it did happen in your life, and facing it without all the angry adverbs and adjectives you can think of. Forgiveness, then, is an art of accepting that bad things happen to people, but life must go on, with hope and the brightest smile to face the uncertainties of tomorrow.

A study had been made on college students with deep feelings of hate and resentment. By focusing on the negative aspects of their situations, it has been noted that heart rates and blood pressures increased. Suddenly, the body is in a state of stress from all those tensed muscles. On the other hand, forgiveness helps loosen up the knots of deep-seated hate, increasing positive feelings, and making the body feel at ease. This means free from dis-ease. The practice of gratitude also helps in the process of forgiveness. By being grateful for the lessons learned from your experience, you then move on with a greater sense of self and inner peace. That’s also very relaxing for your heart, brain, and muscles.

What are the Health Benefits of Forgiveness?

Less Stress
Lower Blood Pressure
Healthy Heart Rate
Better Control of Anger
Lesser Risk to Depression
Lesser Risk to Anxiety Disorders
Reduced Risk from Chronic Fatigue and Pain
Healthier Inter-Personal Relationships
Improved Self Image and Well-Being
Better Spirituality

There are many ways that can enhance your feeling of forgiveness – from meditation, breathing exercises, stress management, and cognitive training. You can forgive by choosing to let go of those angry thoughts on this very person who did you wrong. Avoiding the person will not make the pain go away. In the end, all those pent-up feelings will lead to chronic stress to dangerous, obsessive behaviors. The last thing you want is to go down the rabbit hole into the pitch-black cold.

There are many reasons why we might feel hurt and this can include rejection, betrayal, abuse, insult, and many more. It is very difficult to accept without some form of retaliation. But before you even think of vengeance, ask yourself if it’s worth all your energy. You can use your time and efforts on something more positive and spiritually-enriching. Remember that you are the key to your own salvation and you have to reach the keys to forgiveness, no matter how deeply buried it is in your angry self. Be at Peace!

There are many reasons why you're experiencing chest pains. Know the causes and what you can do to prevent them.

While having a cup of tea at my friend’s home, a caption had caught my eye, from an old pile of what’s supposed to be trash: Are You at Risk for Heart Attack? My curiosity took the better part of me, as I picked it up and read the rest of the page. I don’t know where it was ripped off, but it’s so good that I can’t help but share it on this blog.

Many of us dismiss chest pain as something to do with fatigue. We normally think we’re just stressed out from the long hours at work. Then, there are many people who fear heart attack. I remember seeing a movie where someone would clutch their shirt tightly, with a horrible grimace on one’s face, and a sudden thud on the floor. Someone, then, screams for help.

Chest pains can be serious, and life-threatening, if there are no preventive measures taken. There can also be other factors causing chest pains, which make it impossible to know which is which. Take for example Stable Angina, where your chest pains rises at predictable levels, depending on your activity. It can be a brisk walk or a steep climb. However, the more dangerous chest pain is also known as Unstable Angina – which needs immediate medical attention in your nearest ER.

What Diagnostics Tests can You Take to Rule out the Possibilities of a Heart Disease:

1. ECG
2. Stress Test
3. Lung Scan
4. Blood Tests ( LDH, LDH isoenzymes, CPK, CPK isoenzymes, Troponin, CBC, and blood differential )
5. Chest X-Rays
6. Blood Oxygen Levels

More complex tests will be done, depending on the initial results.

How Do You Evaluate Pain? Ask Yourself these Questions:

1. How would you describe the pain? Here are some adjectives you can use: tearing, ripping, severe, sharp, burning, stabbing, squeezing, tight, pressure-like, aching, full, heavy, crushing.

2. Do you feel pain with exertion? This suggests a fixed blockage in your heart’s arteries.

3. After physical activity or exercise, does the pain subside after rest?

4. How often do you feel pain? How long does it last: 15 to 30 minutes?

5. Do you feel your pain radiate to your jaw, neck, shoulder blades, arms? Does it change location? This can suggest angina due to insufficient amount of blood pumping in your heart.

6. Do you feel pain with deep breathing? This is normally caused by a musculoskelatal injury or a lung disease such as pneumonia, when there’s blood clot in the lungs. It can also be caused by a collapse of the lungs small area, known as pneumothorax – or pleurisy, the inflammation of the lining around the lungs.

6. Do you feel anxious with every rapid breathe?

7. Is the pain brought upon by eating? Ulcer pain burns when your stomach is empty and gallbladder pain happens after eating too much fatty meals.

When to Call for an Ambulance?

1. You are feeling too much pressure on your chest.
2. Your pain radiates to your jaw, left arm, and between your shoulder blades.
3. You experience nausea, dizziness, sweating, racing heart, and shortness of breathe.
4. You chest pain is not caused by physical activity.
5. When you feel chest pains even while resting.
6. When you have a sudden chest pain after a long trip.

There are many natural, healthy ways to control your risk for heart angina, and this includes having a healthy diet and lifestyle. You must keep watch of your blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels. Make your heart healthy with good servings of your healthy fibers, fruits, and veggies. You must always read your food labels and make sure you get true value for your money. It is an old adage, but getting physical exercise can make your heart pumping oxygen-rich blood needed by every living cell in your body.

Chest pains are not a laughing matter that you can just ignore. It’s always best to have an emergency measure, as well as a preventive solution.

Be Prepared, Be healthy… Be Worry-Free!
