Our modern lives have been so much entwined with techie gadgets and gears that it seems impossible to live without them even for a day. In fact, we spend too much time with them, from the moment we open our eyes and watch hours of news in front of our TV, the hours of work we spend using our desktops and laptops, to that favorite flick we see before taking our good night sleep. Technology is now an essential part of our lives, bringing us the convenience… and the inconveniences.

We now come face to face with a word never before heard in centuries: STRESS. Hours of being glued in front of a box showing us stuff for our business and leisure have given a rise to the number of mind-boggling illnesses that can make any doctor scratch his head. From Chronic Fatigue Syndrome to Repetitive Strain Injury, our bodies are catapulted into this unexplainable feeling of tiredness: migraines, headaches, muscle pains, vision problems, depression, and the inability to concentrate on the task at hand. We can only drink as many pills as we want, but as long as our lives depend on these amazing products of the innovative world, we can never really have a permanent cure.

Your eyes are the most important part of your connection to the visual world. Without it, you’ll be living in a world of darkness. The eyes are also the most abused, and too much staring into something is definitely not good for you. There are natural ways for you to care for your vision, without sorting to synthetic solutions.

How to Care for Your Eyes and Avoid Strain:

1. Do Eye Exercises if you can. Like your body, your eye muscles need some tender, loving stretch.

2. Look for a natural herb called Eyebright. You can boil water and place a few teaspoons of this herb. Allow the liquid to cool before soaking a cloth and applying them to your closed eyes. The herb’s anti-inflammatory property can help you feel better.

3. Love Your Berries: Bilberry, Cranberry, Blueberry, and Huckleberry are all great for treating eye problems and strengthening your eyes’ capillaries.

4. Chamomile Tea Bag Therapy works great on tired eyes. You can brew and enjoy a sip while having your eyes rested.

5. If you can find a Goldenseal, you can make it into an eye compress. This can help you get rid of bloodshot eyes.

6. Don’t miss out on VITAMIN A – your eyes’ best friend. This means loving your veggies like carrots, tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, and cabbage. You may take vitamin A supplements as well.

At the end of a stressful day, always find time to relax and close your eyes to the beauty of sweet and natural healing that’s great for you. Besides, the way you see the world very much affects how you live your life.. so make sure you see everything bright.

Here’s a Nice Set of Eye Strain Exercises You Can Do:
