People in all walks of life have, at one time, experienced being sick. Most likely, the doctors have given them a list of prescription pills to buy at the nearest drug store. Sounds familiar? You just take the Pro’s word for it, as you pop those colorful bead-like stuff into your mouth, hoping that you’ll wake up feeling fine the next day. Sometimes, just for curiosity, you may even try researching the pros and cons of these medicines given to you. Not many of these Md’s will give you an ” alternative ” option unless you ask them to. The reason for this is that these natural remedies just lack scientific research and facts to back up its claim -or, so the proper authorities handling this issue would say.

There are various reasons for finding alternative remedies, which is especially rampant in third world countries where the cost of an over-the-counter pill would mean a day’s meal. Research might even tell you the ” placebo effect ” theory on taking medicines to feel well. In the end, it would come down to the psychological factor that makes a medicine effective. We even hear a lot of miracle stories where a patient is diagnosed to be dying from cancer and just got well, much to the utter fascination of the doctors who are supposed to treat this person in the first place.

Ever wondered why you’re supposed to be taking the ” right ” stuff and yet, still feeling like this very thing is poisoning your very body? Sometimes, you even wonder that perhaps, your doctor is keeping you sick than making you alright. In the end, does it just come down to business?

Take for example the simple dilemma of having a lower-back pain. A medical practitioner would prescribe you all those pain-relievers that you can buy to alleviate your ache. You might even be considered for follow-up checks, diagnostic tests, and physical therapies. You won’t be told at your first visit to give acupuncture a try, even if this ancient Chinese therapy really works, and that no one has really died from it. Pop this question up and you will be told of the risk of getting infections.. to some side effects of the process. It even could be pricey for you. Yet, this treatment has survived the ages and surely, it did wonder in balancing the ” QI ” ( chi ) or energy flowing in a person’s body. If it worked then, why not now?

The sad truth is that there are hundreds more of remedies without drugs which are deliberately being kept from us, or if not, we are being dissuaded to use them totally. You won’t even hear names making it big from those people researching and promoting natural remedies. Can you even name one famous Chiropractor? ( I guess none )

Reading an article on the 10 Things Your Doctor Won’t Tell You, item number one did shocked me. All my life, I haven’t encountered a doctor who will tell me that taking prescription medication can shorten my lifespan. After all those countless pill-popping, I wonder how many minuses do I already have on my lifeline.

In the end, health is not only a state of physical being, but of our mental, emotional and spiritual self. Surely, everything comes down to what we believe in and our faith in the choices we make. Your key to health is closer at nature and all you have to do is find the best, natural options to keep you living your life to the max.

Face masks give people a false sense of security and they don’t really give the needed protection, unless you have a high-tech respirator – or walk around town in a bio-hazard suit.  Science can only be lagging behind the mutation of this deadly virus.  Just when they think they have caught up, another form comes into life.  It is a never-ending battle against time.

When there is a fight for survival and a limited supply of anti-flu drugs to the populace – people will be forced to look for any alternative solution.  The question is:  Is there really a natural cure against the infamous flu?

The FDA have warned on the sudden flood of fraudulent products claiming cure for H1N1, and told the media that Tamiflu and Relenza are the only approved cures for the virus.  But if you look closely at any virus, they all serve one purpose – to attack your immune system, especially when it’s at its weakest.  This means that we just need to go back to the basic things:  good food, clean living, rest and exercise.  There are many natural ways to boost the immune system without resorting to expensive synthetic supplements.

A joint project between China and Mexico are taking a step back into nature and take the potential of certain medicinal plants to ward off this swine flu for good.
