Geranium
essential oil is a rose-scented oil
extracted from the leaves
and stems of Pelargonium graveleolens, P. capitatum, or P. roseum.
Primarily used in perfumery and cosmetics, it is used in aromatherapy
as an antibacterial in wound healing and for the treatment of acne and
pimples.It is also considered a soothing aid for conditions involving
nerve pain including shingles. It may balance hormones that have gone
awry, especially in women.
Oily
skin, acne - using clean fingers, apply 1-2 drops of geranium
directly onto oily areas of the face or onto pimples. Or, put 5 drops
into a bowl of warm water, dip a clean facecloth into this and gently
wipe over face.
Shingles
- 3-5 drops of geranium oil into a warm or cool bath. Inhale
this fragrance while you are resting in the water, thinking calm
thoughts.
